Idaho Fishing Notebook would like to initiate a new award given straight from my heart to folks in Idaho and around the country for that matter who, in their attempt to be creative, sneaky, un-lawful, or just a dumb ass in their pursuit of fish and game need to “Pull Your Head Out”. I will attempt to detail these as I become aware of some uniques ones. I will never be able to give out awards to everyone who need to “Pull Your Head Out”, but, maybe I can make a dent on this blog. Here is todays award winner.

A Buhl, Idaho man has been charged with a felony for allegedly poaching three sturgeon from the Snake River. (That deserves this award!)

An Idaho Department of Fish and Game officer says in a court affidavit that 31-year-old Thomas Withers caught the fish in last month and took them to his house, where he kept them in a bathtub full of water while trying to figure out how to fillet them. (That deserves the award, also!)

According to the affidavit, when he couldn’t figure out the best way to fillet the fish he dumped them in a ditch near his home. (Oh, how smart! You really deserve the award for this Thomas Withers!)

Withers has yet to enter a plea in the case. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Good luck, Mr. Withers, may you receive the maximum allowable penalty in this manner if found guilty.

Mel – (this is in response to the return to blogspot) Sorry – I was one of the people who still had your old site listed on the blog roll, and I WAS curious why it wasn't showing any new posts – very unlike you! Anyway – it's updated, and you're current. Thanks for your patience.Wolfy

I can't understand why people continue to break the law. It really isn't worth it.
