I have been under the weather the last few days with a bout of the cold and flu. You all know how it is. Sleep, get up and go to the bathroom, spend a few minutes checking out my BlogBuddies, and then back to lay on the couch again. I think I am on the mend this evening, so wanted to share a photo and short story information that a reader sent from over in Oregon via email to Idaho Fishing Notebook. As with all things that come through my email, I cannot testify to the validity of this photo or to the story, but, did want to pass it along to my readers. Some minnow, huh!
This Sturgeon was caught on the Willamette River just below Oregon City two weeks ago.
It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11′1″.
It was 56″ around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours, and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it in.
Any Sturgeon OVER about five feet has to be released unharmed and cannot be removed from the water.
They are brood / breeding stock and probably older than most of us.
